Responsibilities:
Managed the Global Conferences department in Deloitte Consulting which consists of 5 Meeting Planners, 2 Conference Assistants and a Financial Analyst. Set up policy and procedures for the entire Consulting function. Meetings consisted of 4 to 1600 people. Meetings included Regional Partner, Director and Senior Manager Conferences (Asia, Europe and the Americas), Global and Americas Leadership meetings, various training programs, and retirement dinners.
Highlights:
My first Global Partner/Director/Senior Manager Meeting doubled in size, from 400 to 800 people. We called in Sun State Communications and told them how important this meeting would be for the Consulting function. We shared our vision with them. SSC ran with our vision and truly came to the table with great staging, speaker support, templates for the meeting and a unique concept of our final night banquet. SSC designed a global scenic theme that fit perfectly with our new global direction. On our final evening, they draped the entire ballroom with fiber optic black curtain. When I walked into the ballroom my breath was taken away. I actually felt like the meeting room atmosphere had never existed and the transformation was impressive.
Leadership felt as if they hit a homerun with that meeting and the course was set for us to truly become "partners" with Sun State Communications. That all happened 10 years ago and we would not think of doing another meeting without SSC.
There are three important components to every meeting: the meeting planner, the internal client, and the production company. I have worked with Sun State Communications for the past 10 years and feel they have become a true business partner.
SSC has been an outstanding contributor. They have become an integral part of the planning process for our Regional Conferences. Their contributions consist of design, presentation development and speaker support production. SSC has been an important component and guiding force in how to deliver the messages we want to convey. I would not think of doing a high level meeting for our Consulting Partners and Directors without them. John Haro, Bob Colwell and Sun State Communications also assemble the best production people I have ever worked with. Their design and production teams have been consistent for the past 10 years. I have never worked with such a high caliber of talented professionals.
Responsibilities:
Complete Event Management of Corporate Business Meetings, Incentives, Product Launches, Team Building. Negotiations with venues, hotels, etc.
Highlights:
Thirty-plus years creating and managing corporate events. Major focus in recent years has been international events in Greece, Singapore, Italy, London, etc. In the US, recent event locations include Miami, Palm Beach, Orlando, New York City and Las Vegas.
Sun State Communications is probably the best in the business. I have worked closely with John Haro for over 12 years and would be lost without him. He not only is extremely knowledgeable and creative, he has support personnel who rank above the best. In a time of crisis, John is cool and calm and always has a back up plan in the event of emergencies. He works through any problem with a clear head and always with professionalism.
